N2 "hell run" remains hotspot for hijackings

Vehicle hijackings in South Africa remain alarmingly high, particularly on the N2 corridor leading to Cape Town International Airport, known as the "hell run." Crime statistics indicate that high-risk areas, such as Alexandra in Gauteng and Inanda in KwaZulu-Natal, continue to pose threats to drivers. The most frequently targeted vehicles include Toyota Hilux and Volkswagen Polos, while newer models like the Kia Picanto and Isuzu D-Max are emerging as targets.
