N27bn fraud trial: Court adjourns Ishaku, Yero’s case after defence counsel withdraws

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of former Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, to June 15, 2026, following the withdrawal of counsel for the second defendant, Bello Yero. Presiding Judge S. C. Oriji granted the adjournment after defense lawyer Samuel Fagade announced his immediate withdrawal. Ishaku and Yero are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of alleged diversion of public funds amounting to N27 billion.
