CAN 2027: Towards a Postponement to New Year 2028?

CAF is concerned about delays in organizing the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, originally scheduled for June-July in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Despite public assurances, slow progress and infrastructure issues, such as Nairobi's Talanta Sports Stadium, raise concerns. A potential postponement to Christmas 2027 or New Year 2028 is being considered, with an inspection scheduled for January 2027. The possibility of changing the date is supported by logistical challenges faced.
