Benin: Loss Certificate, What Has Changed at the Police Station

Since October 1, 2026, the Benin Republican Police has changed the process for issuing loss certificates, which now must be obtained through a digital platform of the Public Security Documentation Center (CDSP). While declaring a lost document at police stations remains mandatory, the certificate is no longer issued directly at the station. The certificate remains necessary for procedures such as renewing a driver's license and must be included in the file to notify Interpol of the lost document.
