DRC: The Details of the Agreement with the USA on Migrant Reception

The Democratic Republic of the Congo will start receiving migrants sent back by the United States from April 2026. The Congolese government stated that this stay will be temporary and is not intended for permanent settlement. The United States will finance and manage the logistics of the arrangement, which includes reception sites in Kinshasa. This agreement is part of a regional trend where several African countries, such as Rwanda and Uganda, have signed similar arrangements with the Trump administration.
