Man charged with murder of five-year-old Australian Indigenous girl

Jefferson Lewis, 47, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of five-year-old Kumanjayi Little Baby in Australia’s Northern Territory. The girl's death sparked protests by around 400 people near Alice Springs, where Lewis was captured and beaten unconscious by locals. Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, resulting in several arrests. Lewis, who has a criminal history, is scheduled to appear in court in Darwin on Tuesday.
