National Assembly: the referendum bill declared admissible, opposition cries out 'constitutional coup'

On April 30, the National Assembly declared admissible the bill on the organization of referendums in the DRC, introduced by Deputy Paul-Gaspard Ngondankoy. This text aims to modernize the referendum legislation, deemed obsolete since 2005, by specifying organizational modalities and introducing a transition mechanism. However, the opposition, represented by Delly Sesanga, criticizes this initiative, calling it a drift that could circumvent the Constitution.
