N'Djamena: Series of Arrests of Chadian Opponents a Week Before a March

In Chad, eight political party leaders from the Political Actors Consultation Group (Gcap) were arrested in N'Djamena without official reason, following the Supreme Court's dissolution of their coalition. This decision was seen as a crackdown by authorities ahead of a planned protest march on May 2. Among those arrested are opposition figures Max Kemkoye and Nassour Koursami, known for their criticism of the current government. The arrests occurred after the initial detention of the president of the Democrats party, and the detained leaders have not had access to a lawyer.
