NDLEA arrests 73 suspects in Kano drug raids

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, arrested 73 suspects and recovered various illicit drugs during coordinated raids on June 10 under 'Operation Sharar Mafaka'. The operation targeted the Filin Mahaha drug den, Sani Abacha Youth Centre, and locations in the Sheka area. Items recovered included cannabis sativa, diazepam, pregabalin, Exol-5, and a substance locally known as 'suck and die'. Commander CN D.Y. Lawal said the agency will continue operations until drug traffickers have no safe havens.

Court convicts 11 Indian sailors, orders $6m penalty over cocaine smuggling

A Federal High Court in Lagos has convicted 11 Indian sailors and their vessel, MV Aruna Hulya, for importing 31.5 kilograms of cocaine into Nigeria.
