Nearly 30,000 people have abandoned their villages due to the CRP militia's abuses in Djugu

Since March 2026, nearly 30,000 people have fled their villages due to the abuses of the Convention for Popular Revolution (CRP) militia and military operations in the Djugu territory of Ituri. Most of the displaced have settled at the Djaiba site and in Ala, where they live in precarious conditions, lacking food and shelter. Local authorities are calling for urgent assistance to improve the living conditions of these vulnerable populations.
