Former Senegalese international Bineta Sylla died on June 17, 2026 in a road accident in Ouakam, Dakar. She was on a scooter when she was hit by a car; the driver fled the scene. She played for Sirènes de Grand-Yoff and the national team, including the 2012 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
