Benin: Cadreco Business Meeting examines the future of the Port of Cotonou

The second Cadreco Business Meeting, held in Cotonou on October 30, 2026, with the Port of Cotonou Authority, brought together transport, logistics, industry and port-sector professionals to discuss the port’s competitiveness. PAC Commercial and Marketing Director Kevin Potier said the port handled 870 ships and 14.71 million tonnes of goods in 2025, a 50% increase year over year. The authority is investing more than 345 billion CFA francs to raise capacity from 12 million to 25 million tonnes; construction is 70% complete and expected to finish between 2027 and 2028. Discussions also covered digitalization, trade corridors, petroleum storage and distribution, and industrial needs.
