The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Akeem Ishola Busari as the new head coach of the Flamingos, replacing Bankole Olowookere. Olowookere led the Flamingos to a third-place finish at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals in India. Busari is currently the head coach of Pacesetters Queens of Ibadan in the Nigeria Women Football League. The Flamingos will face either Niger or Guinea in the second qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup next month.
