Niger: Mariama Djibrine, alias Mayra, provisionally stripped of her nationality

Nigerien President Abdourahamane Tiani signed a decree on June 11, 2026, provisionally stripping Mariama Djibrine, known as Mayra, of her Nigerien nationality. The measure is based on 2024 ordinances and targets charges of disseminating data that could disturb public order, incitement to revolt, and intelligence with a foreign power. This decision follows similar revocations in April 2026 against Aminata Boureima Takoubakoye and Djibo Yaya.
