Aliko Dangote announced in Lagos a project to expand his refinery's capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day. This project, which could employ up to 95,000 skilled workers, aims to reduce Nigeria's dependence on imported refined products. The refinery, currently the largest in Africa with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is also expected to strengthen local fuel supply and improve national energy security.
