Nigeria: Bandits Abduct 50 Zamfara Elders During 'Reconciliation Meeting' Inside Forest

No fewer than 50 elders of Magamin Diddi village in Maradun local government area were abducted by bandits during a reconciliation meeting with notorious kingpin Jammo in Muntsira Forest. Maradun council chairman Bello Dosara said the elders acted without government approval, as Zamfara state bans negotiations with bandits. Twelve hostages were released to inform the community, leaving 38 still captive. Zamfara police confirmed the incident and deployed personnel.
