Nigeria: Death toll from attack in the northwest rises to 50

The death toll from the attack on Tuesday in the village of Erena, Niger State, has risen to 50, according to humanitarian sources. Among the victims are 34 local hunters, 14 self-defense militia members, and two civilians. The attack was carried out by armed bandits on motorcycles, who also target villages rich in natural resources. The Shiroro region, where the attack occurred, has become a stronghold for criminal and jihadist groups.
