NLC seeks termination of contributory pension scheme

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State has called for the immediate termination of the contributory pension scheme during the 2026 Workers Day celebration in Port Harcourt. NLC Chairman Alex Agwanwor raised concerns about the lack of transparency and the failure to establish a pensions board. He also urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara to address the exclusion of some local government workers and expedite the domestication of the Federal Government's reviewed service allowances.
