The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed workers to celebrate May Day 2026 with street rallies due to the non-implementation of the 2024 National Minimum Wage Act in some states. In a statement signed by NLC General Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja, it was stated that there would be no indoor ceremonies in states where the new wage has not been fully implemented. Workers are to assemble at 7:00 a.m. on May 1, 2026, for peaceful processions to State Government Houses.
