Nomadic education crisis: 10m children unsure of future

Umaru and his wife Zainab want their son Aliyu to receive Western education in addition to the Quranic school he attends. However, escalating insecurity in North-West Nigeria has led to the closure of many nomadic schools. The National Commission for Nomadic Education was established in 1989 to address the educational needs of socially excluded groups, with over 10 million Nigerians affected and more than 4,000 schools across the country.
