North-West: eight soldiers and gendarmes killed

Eight soldiers and gendarmes have been killed in several attacks in the Northwest region of Cameroon. The commander of the gendarmerie brigade and a colleague were shot dead in Belo, while a soldier and a gendarme were killed in a bar in Noni. These incidents follow the death of Second Lieutenant Wamba in Wainama. The attacks in the Bui and Donga-Mantung departments raise fears of a resurgence of armed group activities.
