Electric buses, cars, and motorcycles consumed a record 4.57 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of power in the half year to December 2025, reflecting a 152.49% increase from the previous year. There are currently over 14,700 electric vehicles in Kenya, up from fewer than 100 five years ago. Electric motorbikes dominate the market, accounting for 55% of the total units, while electric passenger cars number 326.
