Spain asks EU for help to process 5,000 Ceuta migrants amid local unrest

Spain has requested assistance from the European Border and Coastguard Agency, Frontex, to process around 5,000 migrants in Ceuta who crossed into the territory a month ago. Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska also requested additional officers to expedite screening efforts. Between 5,000 and 8,000 migrants, including unaccompanied children, remain in Ceuta following a migration surge that resulted in 96 fatalities.
