Israel to hold national elections on October 27, parliament says

National elections in Israel will be held on October 27, the latest legally allowed date, widely viewed as a referendum on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza. The Knesset will complete its full four-year term, the first in half a century. Netanyahu faces mounting criticism for security failures during the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attacks.
