Egypt: Sudanese Journalist Arrested Over Alleged Social Media Post

Attaf Mohamed Mokhtar, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Al-Sudani, was arrested in Egypt with no public allegations made against him by the authorities. Mokhtar, who fled Sudan after the civil war began in April 2023, was reportedly arrested in connection with a social media post criticizing Sudan's internal affairs. The International Federation of Journalists expressed concern and called for his immediate release.
