Investigators looking into the fire at Aby’s Garden, owned by singer Aby Ndour on Dakar’s Corniche Ouest, have ruled out an electrical short circuit and are treating the blaze as deliberate. The fire broke out early on August 9, 2026; the two security guards initially told investigators it started near the electric cooler. Ndour’s 21-year-old son injured his right leg while trying to help fight the fire, and no deaths were reported.
