Bashir Ahmad expressed sadness over the reported move by another former Kano State Governor, Kabiru Ibrahim, to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Senator Gaya has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the ADC in Kano. Additionally, former House of Representatives candidate Femi Onireti has been appointed as the Director General of the APC in Oyo shortly after leaving the PDP.
