OIC condemns Israeli approval of 34 new West Bank settlements

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Israel's approval of 34 new settlements in the West Bank, calling the decision a flagrant violation of international law. The Israeli rights group Peace Now reported that the decision was made secretly in early April. The OIC's general secretariat stated that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territory and warned of the serious consequences of settlement policies. The Palestinian Presidency also condemned the plan.
