Ooni seeks stronger traditional security alliance against banditry

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, called on traditional rulers across Yorubaland to deepen cooperation with security agencies to combat rising banditry and kidnapping. He made the appeal during the 2026 Ifa Festival in Ile-Ife, emphasizing the need to combine traditional leadership with modern security measures. He also prayed for the safe return of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo and Borno states.
