Oyo Abduction: Senate blasts Makinde for demanding UN probe

The Nigerian Senate has lambasted Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for calling for a United Nations-led probe into the abduction of pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area. Lawmakers asked the governor to stop trivializing a serious and traumatic matter. They applauded the service chiefs and security agencies for their professionalism during the rescue operation. The Senate also urged the Federal Government to promptly pay death benefits and other welfare entitlements to the families of the fallen heroes.
