‘Hardest days of my life’: Goalkeeper Owono speaks after Tenerife striker’s death

FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono said he is living through “the hardest days of my life” after Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a collision during a Spanish second-division match on Monday. Owono collided with De Miguel while trying to clear an aerial ball and expressed his grief and thoughts for the player’s family; an investigation has been opened under judicial supervision. The Equatorial Guinea football federation and Owono’s teammate Lautaro Spatz offered him support. Tenerife and Andorra’s weekend fixtures, along with this week’s Copa del Rey and Copa de la Reina matches, were postponed.
