Adamawa Assembly passes bill to curb multiple taxation

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill to limit multiple taxation. The law, called the Adamawa State Harmonised Taxes and Levies (Approved List for Collection) Law 2026, aims to regulate the collection of taxes and levies by the state government and local councils, especially for road traffic revenues. The third reading followed the presentation and review of the report by the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and Budget, led by Haruna Jilantikiri. House Speaker Bathiya Wesley announced the passage of the bill and instructed the House Clerk to prepare a clean copy for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
