Benin: Abandoned Boat Seizes 40 Bags of Soybeans in Malanville

Forty bags of soybeans were seized early in the morning from an abandoned boat near the village of Kotchi in Malanville arrondissement by the Republican Police and the Navy. The cargo, hidden under maize, was likely intended to be transported to Niger via river. The boat was abandoned after its occupants fled upon the approach of security forces, and it is now held at the Malanville naval base. The goods will be handed over to Customs for legal procedures, but no arrests have been made so far.
