Civil society denounces the persistent presence of FARDC in Bafwasende mining sites

The civil society of Tshopo denounces the ongoing presence of FARDC soldiers in artisanal mining sites in Bafwasende, despite government orders. Illicit seizures, looting, and armed attacks against miners and residents have been reported, including an ambush in Bavangabu village. They call on authorities to enforce mining laws, which stipulate police-led security, and to end these violences, which have resulted in deaths and injuries.
