Pandemonium in Akwa Ibom local council as thugs disrupt plenary, sack councillors

Thugs invaded the Legislative Council Complex in Ini Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, disrupting an ongoing sitting. Councillor Ekomobong Isaac was injured and suffered a two-month miscarriage. Journalist Emmanuel Ufon was assaulted and his cameras seized. Majority Leader Donald Usoroh alleges the attack was sponsored by Council Chairman Inibehe Umah after legislators requested an account of the council's income and expenditure.
