Paris and Lyon prepare as Nice mayor opposes 2030 Olympics ice hockey venue

Organisers of the 2030 Winter Olympics are looking at alternative locations for ice hockey outside of Nice, including Paris and Lyon, due to a political deadlock with Nice's new mayor, Eric Ciotti. Ciotti opposes the plan to convert the Allianz Riviera stadium into a temporary rink, fearing it would restrict access for the resident football club. The organisers stated they are broadening their investigations to include existing facilities in other major metropolitan areas, with results to be presented on May 11.
