Pastef Sets a Date for Upcoming Local Elections

Pastef announced that local elections should take place in January 2027 during a meeting with the Minister of the Interior. This electoral calendar follows the last territorial elections held on January 23, 2022. The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, must now make a decision on this matter. Since the amendment of the electoral code, the election of the mayor is conducted by direct universal suffrage.
