PDP crisis deepens as Wike-backed BoT counters Wabara, backs Mohammed–Anyanwu NWC

The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has deepened as a faction of the Board of Trustees (BoT) backed the Mohammed–Anyanwu National Working Committee (NWC) as the party's legitimate leadership. This position was articulated by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who stated that the Supreme Court ruling nullified the November 2025 national convention in Ibadan. Conversely, another faction led by Adolphus Wabara interprets the same ruling as having swept away all existing leadership structures.
