Peaa: Cotonou Hosts the 7th Ministerial Meeting

On Monday, July 13, 2026, foreign ministers and representatives of several African countries gathered in Cotonou for the 7th ministerial meeting of the Process of African Atlantic States (Peaa), co-organized with Morocco. Discussions focused on maritime security, green logistics corridors, and sustainable energy transition. Benin's Foreign Minister Corinne Amori Brunet emphasized the need for concerted action, and Mohamed Methqal of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation reaffirmed Morocco's commitment. The meeting adopted the Cotonou Declaration, with participation from countries including Cape Verde, Gambia, Togo, Ghana, Angola, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania, DRC, Senegal, and Nigeria.
