Small Trade in DRC: A 6-Month Ultimatum Issued to Foreigners

The Ministry of National Economy announced the implementation of a decree on small trade, giving foreign economic operators a six-month deadline to comply with the new regulations. These measures aim to clarify the legal framework for domestic trade in the DRC, reserving small trade for Congolese while allowing foreigners to operate in certain specialized sectors such as supermarkets and franchises. A dissemination mechanism will be established to assist in the application of these new provisions.
