A woman who lost eight family members in the April 9 attack by suspected Fulani militia in Mbwelle, Plateau State, accused soldiers of failing to respond to the villagers' calls for help. She stated that the soldiers were stationed nearby but chose to guard cows belonging to herdsmen instead of rescuing the residents. During the attack, over 20 people were killed, and soldiers were later seen positioned in front of a village occupied by the Fulani after the invasion.
