Police confirm death of cleric in bandits den in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the death of Islamic cleric Alhaj Muhammad Maibarga, a member of JIBWIS, while in captivity by bandits in Koko-Besse Local Government Area. Police spokesperson SP Bashir Usman stated that authorities are aware of reports of his deteriorating condition and probable death. Maibarga was kidnapped along with a friend, a former APC chairman in the area, and a video released by abductors showed his declining health before his death. The community held funeral prayers in absentia.
