State police, Tinubu’s masterstroke against insecurity — Barau

Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin described President Bola Tinubu's proposal to establish State Police as a 'masterstroke' against insecurity in Nigeria. He stated that the strategic reform, after extensive consultations and public hearings, would improve grassroots policing. Jibrin explained that locally recruited state police officers would better know the communities and criminals, and that safeguards were built in to prevent political abuse.
