Police give update on action against criminals allegedly hiding in Osun Govt House

The Osun State Police Command will take action against suspected criminals hiding in the State Government House. Spokesperson DSP Abiodun Ojelabi stated that due to the immunity of the Government House, procedures must be followed to avoid infringing on the governor's privacy. This follows concerns raised by Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu during a visit to Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Governor Adeleke urged the police to ensure justice for anyone involved in crime.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore described the arrest of the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, as 'the biggest cover-up ever.' Sowore alleged that the arrest and reported dehumanisation of Adeyemi suggest an official cover-up rather than a genuine search for truth, and called for the arrest and investigation of President Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. He further claimed that the individual alleged to have collected a ₦400 million bribe on Gbajabiamila's behalf has died under mysterious circumstances, and the hotel used for the transaction has been demolished. Adeyemi was arrested after a warrant was issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges of forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
