To Boost Birth Rates, Lithuania Wants New Nightclubs

On April 1, 2026, the Lithuanian government, led by President Gitanas Nausėda, announced measures to counter the declining birth rate, which recorded only 17,500 births in 2025. Among the initiatives are the renovation of nightclubs to encourage young people to meet and a 0% income tax for five years for families with at least two children. Eight measures were presented, with results expected as early as 2026.
