At least three vessels have been targeted in hijackings off the coast of Somalia this week, raising concerns about a resurgence of piracy in the region. Since April 20, three to four merchant ships are believed to have been captured near the Somali coast, including the fishing vessel Alkhary 2 and the tanker Honour 25. The UKMTO has raised the threat level around the Somali coast to 'substantial' and warned vessels to transit with caution.
