Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, criticized the dress code imposed on lawyers appearing before the General Court Martial. He pointed out that this directive contradicts the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners 2023. Currently, 36 military officers accused of attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu are being tried by a military court. Falana warned that lawyers who appear robed may face disciplinary actions.
