Nearly USD 300 Million goes into Democratic Republic of Congo’s first population census after 42 years.

The Democratic Republic of Congo will conduct its first population census in over 42 years, with an $80 million contribution from the African Development Bank. The last census, held in July 1984, recorded a population of 29.7 million, while the current population is estimated at over 112.8 million. The Bank's contribution will fund census operations and capacity-building for national institutions.
