PSC, SHA Hold Talks on Redeployment of Former NHIF Employees

The Public Service Commission (PSC) and Social Health Authority (SHA) held a meeting on July 7, 2026, to discuss redeployment of former NHIF employees not absorbed by SHA. Out of 1,737 permanent NHIF employees, only 815 transitioned to SHA, leaving 922 to be redeployed to other ministries. PSC Chairperson Francis Meja and SHA Chairperson Abdi Mohamed assured a smooth process. Additionally, the government approved Ksh4 billion to clear Ksh33 billion in unpaid claims to healthcare providers.
