PWD group demands urgent implementation of Niger Disability Commission

The Executive Director of the Empowerment Initiative of Persons with Disabilities (EIPWD), Muhammad Abubakar Enagi, has called on the Niger State Government to urgently implement and operationalize the Niger State Disability Commission. Niger State is the only state in the North-Central region without a functional commission, despite having thousands of persons with disabilities. The group noted that persons with disabilities continue to face barriers in education, healthcare, employment, and governance. Establishing the commission is seen as a critical step towards promoting equity, inclusion, and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.
